Rural communities across America face a plethora of socio-economic forces of change. For instance, communities once dependent on agriculture, forest products, mineral mining, and certain manufacturing sectors have experienced global transformations that have resulted in job losses, and for some, population decline. Despite these factors, many rural communities have demonstrated incredible resilience, in part because they have cultivated an innovation ecosystem. Yet, so often the forms of innovation that take place in rural places go underrecognized.
This webinar will explore the characteristics of innovative rural places, highlight diverse examples, and close with best practices for building a rural entrepreneurial ecosystem.
